Re: Radio Buzz/Noise

Nathan (and all of you that might be experiencing the same problem);

This TIP is what our late Radio Repairman (Vern Yourston) came up with and
can be found in his "Trouble Shooting Tips". These are contained in the
Pacific Northwest Met Club reproduction of the Radio Service manual that a
whole bunch of you have already purchased from me. Didn't you order one?

VIBRATORS: Some vibrator noise or hum is usually present. Some are nosier,
by nature, than others. An ambitious person can dress the two sets of
points inside a vibrator with a point file for a little more life. This is
tricky and generally not recommended. Some of the older Radio/TV part
suppliers have new vibrators for about $22.00. They are getting scarce.
make sure they are four prong and 12 volt.

Hope this helps.
