Sorry Guys I have to jump in here.
Some electrical theory......  Watts  equal  current times voltage.  or 
amps times voltage.  a 55 walt bulb draws about 5 amps on a 12 volt
system.  A 55 watt device will always draw about 5 amps no matter ..... 
Light is measured in lumens  and/or candle power.  
Just for argument.  let's say a 80 % efficent light produces 80 lumens at
55 watts...  a 50% effficent light produces 50 lumens at 55 watts...... 
each light still uses 55 watts of power or about 5 amps of current at 12
volts.  at no time does the brighter light use more power.  [all numbers
made up, not actual lumens.]
As long as you do not change the wattage the car electrical system will
not notice the difference.
