 O.K. , I just now disassembled the rear axle assy. from the ' 79 Midget
I parted out , it does inded have the 3.72 (11/41) gear ratio in it - I
think this one is allready spoken for but now I know there's more to be
had , plus YOU guys can go to your local pick-a-part or British car club
swap meet and score these big , ugly , greasy , heavy things yourown self
:-) , maybe for even LESS ! .(the rule of thumb here is : the
bigger/greasyer an item is , the less a private party will sell it for ,
NOT true at junkyards) .

 This ratio is ONLY for Mets with hopped up engines OR four speed OR
automatic conversions , it is too high for the stock engine to pull . 

Of course if you put low profile tires on your Met , it would prolly work
out really well with the stock motor ..
