Re: Halogen Lights - Oops

Well ;

 Actually here in car crazy Los Angeles we get lots of wierd and
sometimes wonderfull stuff for our cars , even though it drives the
Highway Patrol crazy , not to mention the cops in MY 'hood , just 3
blocks from the projects where you may not have a job , nor any diploma
but - MAN ! is that car decked out ! :-) .

H-4's have been available over the counter here since the early 70's , I
recall lots of tickets for " bulb - in " headlights , now they don't seem
to care , I saw a brand new car with the much touted " projector " typ
headlights , they were dimmer than my old 6 volt V.W. ! I wonder how in
heck they got it approved for sale here .

 I well recall the Peugot 405 Family Salon station wagon my dad bought
new in france , 1967 , it had these wonderfull yellow (?Halogen?)
headlights that the customs guy went crazy about - he impounded the car
untill we got replacement seal beams , a big job on a car not available
in the U.S. at the time - pissed my dad off pretty bad .
