You should be able to hold the shock lower in your hand and exert
continuous downward pressure on it as it sloowwwly extends - failing that
you can jack up the lower a frame (gently,gently) untill the stud sticks
through the hole - BE CAREFULL ! you don't want the car to slip off the
jack and crush your shoulder - it really hurts ! (I know) . 

 Conversely you can buy one of those drive - up shet metal ramps ans
drive up it , that will compress the suspension enough to make it work .

 Remeber to re-adjust the brakes as they " bed in " in a few weeks -
enjoy the first drive :-) .
