Simple ;

Just get a 12 volt battery and run two wires to the motor , one to each
connector , it isn't polarity aensitive and there's no park position so
if it runs nice and smooth , you're set - be aware it should run quietly
and not get warm , nor should it draw a big spark when you connect the
wires .

 You do NOT need to gound the case ! .

I'd plan on disassembling , cleaning and lubing it in any case .
