What about the interior? How about adding a new >gauge to the dash? Chroming parts of the engine? Do what YOU want. Do you want a "restored" Met or do you want a Met the way you want it? Both are OK. I am sticking to the original colour, Coral Red (Salmon) as it is a "'50,s" colour, but I am taking out the switches under the radio & putting in an Oil Gauge, Temp Gauge & Tak. I am not chroming any parts on the engine as that doesn't make it work any better! As I have a automatic, I am moving the ignition to the whole were the shifter was. This is what I am doing, but do your oun thing. Re: Year of your Met. Imported cars use to be dated by the year that they were sold, not the year they were made. So, if a car was at a dealer's for 2 years and not sold it would have been dated as the newer year. This was because imported cars really didn't change from year to year. About the engine. There are a number of engine/trans combos that will fit in very good. Unless you want to beef up the front end, you have to watch the weight that you are dropping in, but other than that what ever fits...
